If you are willing to travel a little bit outside of Scottsdale, you have to go visit Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, AZ. It is a short worthwhile commute and when you get there, you will be able to step back in time to the Wild Wild West. Admission is free with an exception of few special shows offered at very low price. Lot’s of fun among Cowboys! Rawhide offers seasonal cookouts, 15 shops, and famous steakhouse. You won’t be disappointed!
Last but not least, you can always do a lot of hiking. There are fantastic trails all around Scottsdale and neighboring Paradise Valley. You can pick and choose whether you want to explore panoramic desert or indulge in breathtaking views from the mountains.
Our favorite one is Camelback Mountain with two different (challenging and less challenging) ways to the top. You can start your Camelback hiking at the Echo Canyon if you are up for the challenge. We strongly advise to start early in the morning as it gets hot later during the day
